Stoker

One of the most influential film for us is none other than; Stoker. A shocking thriller made with such detail by the astonishing director, Chan-Wook Park. This coming-of-age story draws the audience into the journey of self-discovery and  self-acceptance, with a gory twist. Contrasting the well-established tenacious works of Chan-Wook Park, this particular film is the most subtle. Yet, due to its creeping build-up, the film succeed to create a few jarring moments, for example; the phone booth murder. As Evelyn looks for Uncle Charlie in the guest house, the scene intercuts with Gwen at an eerie motel room, exposed and unsafe. After she discovered that Uncle Charlie is out, we jump to a conclusion to where he might be; at the motel, killing the person who is capable of blowing his cover.
